The Power of Keeping Your Word to Yourself!

Ladies, let me keep it real—I've been walking a lot this summer.  I am on a quest to complete 2025 miles this year.  The fresh air, the rhythm, the peace? It’s been my therapy in this complicated life.  But there’s one promise I haven’t kept… getting back to my strength training.

Every week I say, “I’ll start tomorrow.” And tomorrow keeps moving.  My goal was to do at least 10 sets per week on all the body parts.  I never made the time, and I am noticing the difference,   and here’s what I’m learning—every time we break a small promise to ourselves, we chip away at our own confidence.

It’s not about guilt—it’s about grace and truth. The same discipline that gets me out walking can also help me pick up those weights again. Because keeping my word to myself is how I build the kind of confidence that sticks.

So this November, I’m recommitting—not to perfection, but to integrity. I’m keeping my word. I’m showing up for me.

And ladies, if you’ve fallen off your plan too, don’t beat yourself up. Just take one small step back toward your goals today. You don’t have to do it all, just start again. You’re worth keeping promises to.

November Sip of the Month: The Cranberry Glow Mocktail

Since it’s November and the holidays are almost here, I thought I’d introduce a festive, healthy drink that keeps your spirit high and your wellness on point. Because let’s be honest—we want to feel good in our bodies while we’re celebrating!

This Cranberry Glow Mocktail brings all the sparkle, none of the guilt. It’s light, tart, refreshing, and looks stunning in a glass (because presentation matters, sis).

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup pure cranberry juice (unsweetened)
  • ¼ cup fresh orange juice·
  • Sparkling water or kombucha to top
  • A squeeze of lime
  • Fresh cranberries + mint for garnish

How to Make It:

Pour cranberry and orange juice over ice, top with sparkling water or kombucha, add your lime, and finish with cranberries and mint.

Here’s to a season of keeping promises, glowing from the inside out, and sipping something that loves you back. 🥂

Here’s What I’m Leaving in 2024 (and What’s Coming In)

Welcome, Sisters to 2025!

Your health is your superpower; every bite can help you feel your best. As a culinary nutrition coach, I’m here with tips and inspiration just for us, Black women. Let’s nourish our bodies, celebrate our culture, and make wellness fun and easy. ✨

2024 Out, 2025 In: Have You Made Your List Yet?

Let me share mine. Maybe it’ll inspire you to claim your power, your peace, and your purpose in 2025.

Sister, we made it through another year—stronger, wiser, and ready for even more.

But as we step into 2025, let’s be intentional about what we’re leaving behind and what we’re bringing in.

Here’s my Out List for 2024:
❌ Saying “yes” when I really mean “ugh, no.”
❌ Pretending coffee is a meal (it’s not).
❌ Scrolling my life away on socials.
❌ Jumping on trends that don’t vibe with me.

And here’s what’s In for 2025:
✅ Protecting my “me time” like it’s the last slice of cake.
✅ Hydrating, stretching, and actually resting.
✅ Cheering myself on, even for the small wins.
✅ Finding what works for me and sticking with it—no guilt allowed!

This isn’t just a list; it’s a declaration. My 2025 will be bold, beautiful, and balanced—and so can yours.

So, I’ll ask you again: Have you done your list yet? If not, start now. Write it, claim it, and step into your new season. Let’s inspire each other.

What’s on your Out/In list? Share it with me!
