Healthy Looks Good on Us

I became interested in healthy living by watching life up close.

I saw family members I loved, including my mother and aunties, face health issues that made me pay attention. Not in a fearful way, but in an intentional way. I started asking better questions about food, movement, energy, and the daily choices that shape how we age.

I also became fascinated by the habits of healthy people. What did they eat? How did they move? How did they think? What did they do consistently that helped them feel strong, clear, and alive?

Over time, I found myself drawn to naturally wholesome vegetarian choices. Fresh vegetables. Simple meals. Foods that felt nourishing instead of heavy. Meals that reminded me that taking care of myself did not have to be complicated.

This summer, I am choosing health in a simple way.

Move every day.

Eat food that nourishes me.

Rest when my body asks for it.

Protect my peace.

Think forward.

For Black women especially, this matters. Many of us have spent years taking care of everyone else. But our health matters too. Our joy matters. Our future matters.

You do not need another reminder to “age gracefully.”

You need a quiet place to tell the truth, release what no longer fits, and choose who you are becoming next.

For just $11, this 7-day journal gives you a simple, guided space to reflect on your body, your beauty, your peace, your desires, and your next chapter.

JUICING FOR HEALTH IN 2026: SMALL HABITS. BIG DIFFERENCE.

Sis… can we talk about how exhausted women are right now?

Running on caffeine.
Skipping meals.
Trying to “push through.”

And then wondering why our energy is low and our bodies feel off.

One thing I’ve learned on my wellness journey is this:
Sometimes your body is not asking for something complicated.

Sometimes it’s simply asking for more nourishment.

That’s where juicing can help.

Not as a trend.
Not as a quick fix.

But as a simple way to support your health in real life.

3 Simple Truths About Juicing

1. Juicing Makes Nutrition Easier

Most people are not eating enough fruit and vegetables every day.

Juicing is one simple way to help your body get more plant nutrients, hydration, and variety without overcomplicating things.

2. Your Juice Does Not Have to Be Fancy

Sis… stop thinking you need an entire farmers market in your refrigerator.

Some of the best juices are simple:

  • cucumber + apple + lemon
  • carrot + orange + ginger
  • pineapple + celery + lime

Simple habits are the ones we actually keep.

3. Juicing Works Best Alongside a Healthy Lifestyle

Juicing is support—not magic.

Your body still needs:

  • movement
  • rest
  • water
  • Whole Foods
  • stress management

That’s why I always say:
walk more, nourish yourself better, and stay consistent.

This Week’s Wellness Step

Make one fresh juice this week and drink it slowly—without rushing.

Let it be a reminder that taking care of yourself matters too.

Let’s Take This Walk, Sis: How Movement Became My Midlife Medicine

Sis… I’m going to be real with you.

I didn’t wake up one day with everything figured out.  This wellness life I talk about?
I grew into it.

Because there was a time when I was doing a lot…
working, building, showing up for everybody…
and still not feeling my best.

And I had to stop and ask myself, Teri… when do you show up for you?

That question right there?  It changed the direction of my life.

It Started Simple… With a Walk

I didn’t start with a big plan.  No gym. No pressure.  I just started walking.

Sometimes early in the morning.  Sometimes in the evening.  Sometimes, just to clear my head after a long day.

And let me tell you, those walks became mine.

That was my time to think. It’s my time to breathe, my time to pray, reset, and get myself together.

And the more I walked, the more I realized this wasn’t just exercise.

This was healing.

Midlife Will Wake You Up

There’s something about this season of life.

You start paying attention differently. Your energy matters more.  Your peace matters more.
Your health? Non-negotiable.

I had to be honest with myself.  I didn’t want to just get through the day.  I wanted to feel good in my life.  And walking gave me a way back to myself.

But I Knew It Wasn’t Just the Walk

Now listen…
I’m a Culinary Nutrition Coach.  I know food matters.

So, I couldn’t be out here walking, doing my thing, and then go back home to a kitchen that wasn’t supporting me.

That’s when I started shifting how I eat.  I began building a plant-based kitchen one decision at a time.

More whole foods.  More meals that energize me.  More intention in what I put on my plate.

Not perfect.  But consistent.

Because I wanted my lifestyle to match the way I said I wanted to live.

This Is My Real Life Now

These days?

Walking is part of who I am.  It’s how I stay grounded.  It’s how I stay clear.  It’s how I stay connected—to myself and to God.

And my kitchen?
It reflects that same care.

This isn’t about doing the most.  It’s about doing what matters.

Taking care of myself in a way that feels good… and lasts.

Sis, You Can Start Right Where You Are

You don’t need to overhaul your whole life overnight.

Start where you are.

Take a walk.
Look at what’s in your kitchen.
Make one better choice.

Then do it again tomorrow.

That’s how this works.

And If You Want Support… I’m Right Here

This is what I do, Sis.

I lead wellness walks where we move, talk, and support each other.
I teach kitchen demos to help you actually live this lifestyle, not just think about it.

👉🏾 Please, take time to walk with me.
👉🏾 Let’s build your wellness life together.

Because I didn’t come this far to keep it to myself, and neither should you.

Let’s take this walk.

Finding Your Wellness Tribe Might Be the Missing Piece in Your Health

You’re not lacking discipline—you might just need the right people walking beside you.

Let’s Talk, Sister…

If you’ve been trying to maintain a healthy weight and it feels like a constant start-and-stop situation… I see you.

One week you’re walking, drinking your smoothies, feeling good.
Next week? Life is lifing, motivation dips, and suddenly you’re off track again.

And you start thinking…
“Why can’t I just stay consistent?”

But let me tell you something with love—
it’s not a discipline problem. It’s an environmental problem.

You Were Never Meant to Do This Alone

We’ve been sold this idea that wellness is a solo journey.
That you just need more willpower, more structure, more “get it together.”

But the truth?

Your lifestyle is shaped by the people around you.

If you’re surrounded by:

  • People who don’t prioritize their health
  • Conversations that center stress, not solutions
  • Energy that drains instead of uplifts

…it’s going to feel like you’re pushing a boulder uphill every single time.

Now imagine the opposite.

What Happens When You Find Your Wellness Tribe

When you find your people—the ones who walk, stretch, juice, laugh, and grow—you start to notice something powerful:

You don’t have to force it anymore.

  • Walking becomes something you look forward to
  • Healthy choices feel normal, not restrictive
  • You feel seen, supported, and inspired
  • You start showing up as her… consistently

That’s the shift.

It’s no longer about trying to maintain a healthy weight.
It’s about living a lifestyle that naturally supports it.

It’s Bigger Than Weight, Sis

Let’s go deeper for a second.

This isn’t just about the number on the scale.
This is about:

  • Your energy when you wake up
  • Your confidence when you get dressed
  • Your peace of mind when life gets busy
  • Your joy when you’re out here actually living

That’s what a wellness tribe protects.

Because when life starts pulling at you (and it will),
your tribe pulls you back into alignment.

Find Your People, Find Your Rhythm

Your wellness tribe might look like:

  • A walking group in your city
  • A few women committed to daily movement
  • A virtual circle checking in on habits
  • A community that shares your love for wellness, travel, and feeling good

It doesn’t have to be big.
It just has to be real.

Because once you find that rhythm with the right people…

Consistency stops feeling like work—and starts feeling like who you are.

Sister to Sister… Here’s the Truth

You don’t need another strict plan.
You don’t need to start over (again).

You need:

  • Alignment
  • Support
  • Community

And a space where wellness feels like a lifestyle… not a punishment.

Your Next Step (Let’s Walk This Out Together)

If you’ve been craving that kind of energy, that kind of support…

This is your invitation.

Come walk with me.
Come be part of a space where we choose movement, wellness, and joy—together.

Because over here?

We’re not just trying to lose weight.
We’re building a life that feels good to live.

Financial Wellness Is Self-Care — Especially for Black Women.

For years, my wellness conversations centered around movement, nourishment, travel, and lifestyle. Hydration. Walking. Smoothies. Intentional living. And those things still matter deeply to me.

But recently, I’ve had to sit with a new realization.

Financial stress quietly disrupts everything we call wellness.

As Black women, we are often the steady ones. The dependable ones. The resourceful ones. We manage responsibilities, support family, show up for community, and maintain resilience — sometimes without pause. That level of responsibility carries weight. And when income feels limited, uncertain, or dependent on systems we don’t control, our bodies feel it.

Sleep changes. Energy dips. Patience shortens.

No amount of green juice can override chronic financial anxiety.

Over time, I’ve started expanding how I define wellness. It’s not just what I eat or how often I move. It’s also the flexibility I have. The choices available to me. The ability to say yes or no without panic.

Even small income streams can shift posture and perspective. There’s something powerful about knowing you can create value beyond a paycheck. It doesn’t have to replace everything overnight — but it changes how you stand in your life.

I recently joined a free community called Your First 5K w/ Arlan that focuses on helping people turn their lived experience into income. What resonated with me is the simplicity — it’s about building clear offers and getting paid, not building a massive audience first. If financial flexibility is part of your wellness journey this year, it may be worth exploring.

For me, this isn’t about hustle. It’s about alignment.

Wellness, at this stage of my life, includes flexibility. It includes ownership. It includes designing income that supports the lifestyle I talk about so often.

If we’re truly committed to holistic wellness, perhaps it’s time we expand the definition.

Hold On, Don't Go Anywhere

Sister, before you click away, I want you to pause for a moment.

We’re already in the second month of 2026, and if you’re anything like me, this is the point where the noise quiets down and the truth starts speaking a little louder. Not the “new year, new everything” kind of truth—but the real one.

How are you actually feeling in your body right now?

I’m asking because I care—and because I’m paying closer attention myself. My energy. My digestion. My stress levels. How I move. How I rest. What I’m putting on my plate and how it makes me feel afterward. These aren’t abstract ideas anymore. They’re daily check-ins.

And when I talk to other Black women, I hear the same themes over and over again:
“I want to feel better.”
“I want consistency.”
“I don’t want another complicated plan.”

That’s where my heart is.

As a nutrition and wellness coach, I believe wellness should feel supportive, not stressful. It should fit into real life—the lives we’re already living. Sometimes that looks like stepping outside for a wellness walk, moving our bodies while we talk, laugh, and breathe. Sometimes it looks like being in the kitchen together, learning simple, nourishing ways to take care of ourselves without overthinking it.

This space exists so we can slow down, get honest, and choose ourselves—one small, intentional step at a time.

So sister, hold on. Don’t go anywhere.
You don’t have to figure this out alone.

Call to Action:
If you’re ready to explore wellness in a way that feels real and sustainable, I’d love to connect. Reach out to schedule a wellness walk or a nutrition kitchen demo, and let’s start where you are—together. 💛

For Black Women Ready to Normalize Healthy Choices

Hey Sis,

2026 pulled up like, “So… what we are doing this year?”  And the answer is simple: we’re doing what we love and calling it HEALTH.

No more whispering about water.
No more acting brand-new about walking.
No more apologizing for choosing peace over plates you didn’t even want.

This is the year we normalize healthy choices like it’s regular-degular.

That means:

  • Walking because it clears your mind and gives main character energy
  • Eating food that makes you feel good after, not just full
  • Resting without explaining yourself like it’s a court case
  • Saying “no” and keeping it cute

Let’s be honest—Black women have been carrying everything for everybody since forever. But in 2026? We’re choosing ourselves and still showing up fly. That’s the glow.

Healthy ain’t boring.
Healthy ain’t punishment.
Healthy is you laughing, moving, glowing, and living your real life.

You don’t have to be perfect.
You don’t have to do all the things.
You just have to do the next right thing—for you.

This year is about:

joy over struggle
consistency over extremes
peace over proving

So go ahead—drink the water.  Take the walk.  Book the trip.  Protect your energy like it’s VIP.

Do more of what you love in 2026.  Because when a Black woman chooses herself?  Everybody feels it.

And let me add this part—because this didn’t start yesterday.

I’ve been choosing wellness for years. I know my body. I know my energy. And trust me… I know when I’m off my game. That awareness? That’s the real flex.

In my workshops, I teach Good, Better, Best—because wellness isn’t all-or-nothing.

  • Good gets you started
  • Better builds consistency
  • Best is when it finally fits your real life

No pressure. No perfection. Just progress that makes sense.

I’m still very much available for Wellness Workshops, and my focus is hands-on and real:

🥬 Plant-Based Nutrition Kitchen Experiences — practical, delicious, and doable
🚶🏾‍♀️ Wellness Walks & Urban Rambles — movement, conversation, community

Right here in Denver.

This is about normalizing healthy choices for Black women in real life—not on a pedestal, not on a cleanse, not on day one energy forever.

If you’re ready to reconnect, reset, or gently get back on your groove…  I’m your girl. And we’ll do it your way.
