The Power of Keeping Your Word to Yourself!

Ladies, let me keep it real—I've been walking a lot this summer.  I am on a quest to complete 2025 miles this year.  The fresh air, the rhythm, the peace? It’s been my therapy in this complicated life.  But there’s one promise I haven’t kept… getting back to my strength training.

Every week I say, “I’ll start tomorrow.” And tomorrow keeps moving.  My goal was to do at least 10 sets per week on all the body parts.  I never made the time, and I am noticing the difference,   and here’s what I’m learning—every time we break a small promise to ourselves, we chip away at our own confidence.

It’s not about guilt—it’s about grace and truth. The same discipline that gets me out walking can also help me pick up those weights again. Because keeping my word to myself is how I build the kind of confidence that sticks.

So this November, I’m recommitting—not to perfection, but to integrity. I’m keeping my word. I’m showing up for me.

And ladies, if you’ve fallen off your plan too, don’t beat yourself up. Just take one small step back toward your goals today. You don’t have to do it all, just start again. You’re worth keeping promises to.

November Sip of the Month: The Cranberry Glow Mocktail

Since it’s November and the holidays are almost here, I thought I’d introduce a festive, healthy drink that keeps your spirit high and your wellness on point. Because let’s be honest—we want to feel good in our bodies while we’re celebrating!

This Cranberry Glow Mocktail brings all the sparkle, none of the guilt. It’s light, tart, refreshing, and looks stunning in a glass (because presentation matters, sis).

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup pure cranberry juice (unsweetened)
  • ¼ cup fresh orange juice·
  • Sparkling water or kombucha to top
  • A squeeze of lime
  • Fresh cranberries + mint for garnish

How to Make It:

Pour cranberry and orange juice over ice, top with sparkling water or kombucha, add your lime, and finish with cranberries and mint.

Here’s to a season of keeping promises, glowing from the inside out, and sipping something that loves you back. 🥂

Wellness, Woman to Woman

Sip Into Your Seasonal Reset: A Juice Protocol for Black Women

When the seasons shift, our bodies feel it. The air changes, the light changes, and so do our energy levels. That’s when I know—it’s time for a reset. Not a crash diet, not deprivation, but a loving, intentional juice protocol to help the body flow with the season.

Why a Seasonal Reset Matters

Think of your body like your favorite playlist. Sometimes you gotta clear out the old tracks and bring in new ones to match the vibe. Seasonal juicing does the same—flushing toxins, boosting hydration, and giving your digestive system a break while still filling you with nutrients that glow from the inside out.

The Juice Protocol

Here’s how I like to roll:

Prep the Mindset

Commit to 3–5 days. Nothing extreme. You’re not punishing yourself—you’re refreshing.

Morning Glow Juice

  • Carrot
  • Orange
  • Ginger
  • Lemon

This one wakes you up better than coffee, trust me.

Midday Green Power

  • Cucumber
  • Celery
  • Spinach
  • Apple
  • Lime

This hydrates and gives you that clean energy without the slump.

Afternoon Sweet Balance

  • Beet
  • Apple
  • Carrot
  • Lemon

Earthy, sweet, and perfect for stamina.

Evening Wind Down

  • Pineapple
  • Mint
  • Cucumber
  • Lemon

Cooling, refreshing, and helps digestion as you slow down.

Listen to Your Body

Juicing isn’t about starving, it’s about tuning in. If you feel lightheaded, pair your juice with a handful of nuts, a light salad, or avocado toast. This is your reset, not a race.

The Glow After the Flow

Once you’ve completed the reset, slowly add back whole food. Notice how your skin, your mood, and even your sleep feel. That’s the seasonal glow-up you just gifted yourself.

You're Invited: The Juice Party!

Pick up your FREE Seasonal Reset Juice Protocol PDF in my online store today.  Let's sip, reset, and shine together.

Are You Eating Like This? - The Top Food Tips to Transform Your Health

Let’s Talk, Sis

1. Eat to Energize, Not Just to Fill Up. Say goodbye to that 3 p.m. slump. Real food = real energy. Think greens, grains, and good fats.

2. Add Before You Subtract. Before cutting everything out, add more color—berries, leafy greens, sweet potatoes. The more color, the more power.

3. Hydration is Queen Behavior. Water-rich foods like cucumbers, watermelon, and smoothies will have your skin glowing and joints singing “thank you!”

4. Gut Check, Baby. Your gut is your second brain. Add fermented foods (like kimchi or sauerkraut), plant-based fiber, and maybe a little probiotic love.

5. Read Those Labels Like a Boss  If you can’t pronounce it, your body probably can’t process it. Keep it simple and whole.

Healthy Recipe Drop  Queen’s Glow Bowl: Quinoa, roasted chickpeas, kale, avocado, tahini drizzle. Easy, plant-powered, and oh-so-satisfying.

5 Things I’m Leaving Behind as I Step Into Natural Health Immersion 2025 (+ A Challenge for You, Sis!)

Sister to Sister,

Can you believe we’ve closed out the first quarter of the year?

Whew! Time is moving—but so are we. And I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling the call to reset, realign, and go even deeper into what it means to take care of this one beautiful body I’ve been given.

That’s why I’ve been focused on Natural Health Immersion 2025—my personal journey toward wholeness. It’s not about perfection, it’s about being present. Nourished. Clear. Energized.

But to step into all that, I had to release a few things:

1. Mental Clutter
No more carrying stress that doesn’t belong to me. I’m protecting my peace and choosing stillness when I need it.

2. Processed Everything
I’m going back to basics. Whole foods, vibrant juices, and smoothies that make my cells say “thank you.”

3. Downplaying My Needs
It’s not selfish to put my health first. It’s wise. And overdue.

4. Sedentary Days
Our bodies were made to move. Walking, dancing, stretching—I’m saying yes to all of it.   I really love Latin dancing.  Anyone else?

5. Guilt for Choosing Me
Choosing myself is the most loving thing I can do for everyone around me. I’m done with guilt, and I’m walking in grace.

Now Sis, I’ve got a challenge for you.

As we head into the second quarter of 2025, how about we do it together?

👉🏽 Join me for a 7-Day Smoothie or Juice Challenge
—Your choice, your pace. Just one nourishing drink a day. That’s it. Let’s flood our bodies with nutrients, boost our energy, and glow from the inside out.

Don’t overthink it. Just start. I’ll be sharing recipes, encouragement, and a few Beyoncé-level pep talks over on Instagram. 😄

Follow me at @terishealthyways on Instagram and DM me “I’m in!” if you’re ready to join the challenge.  I will send you a link.  And let me know when you start.

They Not Like Us - Your Invitation to Rise!

Reclaiming Our Power: Black Women’s Health, Black History, and the Natural Healing Revolution

Hello sisters,  I am excited to be part of your wellness journey and this month as black history month comes to an end, I say Black History Month is not just a time to reflect—it’s a time to reclaim and reimagine. Black women have carried the weight of resilience, but now it’s time to shift from survival to true, holistic thriving. In 2025, natural health immersion is emerging as a powerful pathway to wellness, liberation, and self-reclamation.

The State of Black Women’s Health

Systemic disparities have long impacted Black women’s access to quality healthcare, from higher maternal mortality rates to increased risks of chronic illness. But history shows we are not powerless—healers, innovators, and change-makers.

Reclaiming our health means honoring ancestral wisdom and embracing practices that center our well-being. It means breaking cycles of stress and disease and stepping into nourishment and restoration.

Natural Health Immersion: Returning to Our Roots

Holistic healing is in our DNA. Our ancestors harnessed plant medicine and natural rhythms to maintain vitality. Reclaiming this legacy means embracing:

  • Herbal Medicine – Hibiscus for heart health, burdock root for detoxification.

  • Mindfulness & Meditation – Breathwork, yoga, and energy healing to release trauma.

  • Nutrition for Longevity – Whole, plant-based foods for optimal health.

  • Movement as Medicine – Dance, Pilates, and strength training as self-care.

The Reclaimed Woman: Owning Your Power

To be a Reclaimed Woman is to own your health and healing. It’s about unlearning societal conditioning that tells us to overwork and ignore our needs. It’s about saying YES to joy, rest, pleasure, and deep nourishment.

When we prioritize our health, we shift the narrative—not just for ourselves, but for future generations. Every healing practice we embrace rewrites history.

Your Invitation to Rise

This Black History Month, let’s honor our ancestors by choosing wellness and sovereignty. Let’s create a movement where Black women no longer fight for scraps of healthcare but stand in our power, fully embodied in radiant health.

It’s time to reclaim what has always been ours—our health, healing, and future.

Are you ready to step into your power as a Reclaimed Woman? Begin your natural health immersion today.

Your plant-based journey is your power move, your glow-up, your time to shine. So step into your health era with joy, confidence, and a whole lot of flavor. You’re the queen of this kitchen and this life—now go run the world, one bite at a time. 🌟

Flavorful Tofu Scramble

This tofu scramble is bold, flavorful, and packed with all the goodness. Perfect for a Black queen stepping into her plant-based era! 🌟

Ingredients

  • 1 block extra-firm tofu (pressed to remove excess water)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1/2 red onion, diced
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup kale or collard greens, chopped
  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
  • 1 tsp turmeric (for color and flavor)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black salt (or sea salt for a savory kick)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Optional: A splash of plant milk (for creaminess)

Instructions

  1. Prep Your Tofu: Crumble the pressed tofu into bite-sized pieces with your hands. Set aside.
  2. Sauté the Veggies: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and red bell pepper, cooking until softened (about 3-4 minutes).
  3. Add the Greens: Toss in the kale or collard greens and sauté until wilted.
  4. Season the Tofu: Add the crumbled tofu to the skillet. Sprinkle in turmeric, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black salt, black pepper, and nutritional yeast. Stir well to coat.
  5. Adjust Texture: If you prefer a creamier scramble, add a splash of plant milk and mix until it’s heated through.
  6. Taste and Adjust: Check the seasoning and adjust salt or spices as needed.
  7. Serve: Plate it up with avocado slices, toast, or a side of plantain for a soulful breakfast!

Optional Additions

  • Add vegan sausage crumbles for extra heartiness.
  • Top with hot sauce for a spicy kick.

This isn’t just a list; it’s a declaration. My 2025 will be bold, beautiful, and balanced—and so can yours.

So, I’ll ask you again: Have you done your list yet? If not, start now. Write it, claim it, and step into your new season. Let’s inspire each other.

Holidays Are Coming: Stay Healthy, Juice Up, and Kick Off the New Year Strong!

Hey Sis,

Can you believe the holidays are right around the corner? It's that time of year when we're surrounded by food, celebrations, and let's be honest—a lot of temptation. But just because the season is festive doesn't mean we can't stay on track and step into the new year as our healthiest selves. This is YOUR time to shine, and here's how you can do it by embracing juicing, a whole food plant-based lifestyle, and prioritizing your wellness.

1. Stay Focused, Not Deprived

We all love a good holiday meal, but let’s flip the script and focus on nourishment. Instead of feeling guilty about that extra slice of pie, think about how you can balance indulgence with healthy habits. It’s not about deprivation, it’s about giving your body what it truly craves: real, whole foods that make you feel vibrant.

2. Juice Up for Energy and Immunity

The holidays can get hectic, and sometimes we need a quick pick-me-up that isn’t loaded with sugar and processed junk. That’s where juicing comes in! Juices packed with greens, fruits, and veggies can give you a nutrient boost that’s easy to digest. Try a juice blend of kale, apple, ginger, and lemon for a burst of energy and immune support. The best part? You’re nourishing your body while keeping your immune system strong, which is crucial during the colder months.

3. Whole Food, Plant-Based for the Win

When it comes to eating, focus on a whole food plant-based lifestyle. Think colorful salads, roasted veggies, hearty grains like quinoa, and delicious soups that warm the soul. These foods are naturally packed with vitamins, minerals, and fiber—keeping you full and energized without the post-meal slump.

Don’t forget about healthy fats like avocado and nuts to keep you satisfied and glowing from the inside out. And if you love sweets, don’t worry—there are plenty of plant-based dessert options that will satisfy your cravings without the processed sugar crash.

4. Prep and Plan Ahead

With a little preparation, you can stay on track even when the holiday madness hits. Meal prepping plant-based meals for the week can help you avoid those last-minute fast food runs. Keep healthy snacks like raw almonds, hummus, and veggie sticks on hand for when you need a quick bite.

Make your favorite juice blends in advance, freeze them, and have them ready when you need a health boost. You can also plan your holiday meals around plant-based dishes that everyone will love, so you’re not the only one eating healthily.

5. Start the New Year with a Wellness Challenge

As we move toward the new year, let’s think about how to keep this healthy momentum going. Challenge yourself (and your sisters!) to a wellness goal. Whether it’s walking more, starting a daily juicing habit, or transitioning to a plant-based diet, the new year is the perfect time to commit to being the healthiest version of yourself.

We can even kick off 2024 with a 30-day plant-based challenge or a daily juice detox to reset after the holidays and start the year strong. You’re not alone on this journey, we’re all together, encouraging each other to live well, feel great, and glow from the inside out.

Ready to Elevate Your Wellness? Join the 10-Day Better Body Challenge!

If you’ve been inspired by the tips we’ve shared today, I’ve got an invitation just for you. 🌟 Our 10-Day Better Body Challenge is designed to help you build those healthier habits step-by-step, from mindful movement to energizing nutrition that feels good from the inside out.  Here is the link.  So check it out:  10 Day Better Body

Final Thoughts

Sis, holidays don’t have to derail your health goals. By prioritizing juicing, whole food, and plant-based eating, you’re setting yourself up for success now and well into the new year. Let’s step into 2024 as our healthiest, happiest selves, full of energy and ready to take on the world.

So, let’s make this holiday season about nourishing our bodies, showing ourselves love, and preparing for all the new year's greatness.

With love and wellness,

Teri Sewell

Rebounding for a Stronger, Healthier You!

Hey sis! Life knocks us down, but we bounce back—literally! Rebounding (aka trampolining) is my go-to for de-stressing, recharging, and staying fit. It’s fun, easy on the joints, and delivers total body results!  I have been rebounding for over 25 years and really miss it.

No Gym Needed, Every Movement Counts:

You don’t have to hit the gym to feel the burn—just grab your trampoline and bounce right at home! Whether it’s 5 minutes or 30, every little bit counts. Rebounding fits into your day whenever you need a quick energy boost or workout session.

Gut Health is Queen Behavior

Let’s get real about gut health, ladies, because it’s a game-changer for us as Black women. Our gut is the secret to feeling good, looking good, and handling stress like a boss. When our guts in check, we’re glowing, our immune system’s strong, and our mood is on point.

Taking care of our gut is a way to reclaim our health—something we all deserve. It’s as simple as adding more fiber, probiotics, and some fermented foods to our diet. Plus, by focusing on our gut health, we’re setting the stage for the next generation to thrive.

I'm encouraging you to learn all you can about gut health because our gut health affects many aspects of your body to include your digestion, immune system and mental health.

So, remember, for maintaining good gut health, here are three tips:

Eat a Fiber-Rich Diet: Fiber promotes the growth of healthy gut bacteria and aids in digestion. Incorporate plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes into your diet.

Include Probiotics: Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that support a healthy gut microbiome. You can find them in fermented foods like yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, and kimchi, or consider taking a probiotic supplement.

Stay Hydrated: Drinking enough water is essential for digestion and helps keep the mucosal lining of the intestines healthy. Aim for at least 8 glasses of water a day.

I would love to share with you a good gut healthy smoothie recipe that I think you will appreciate.

The Recipe:

Happy Belly Blueberry Smoothie

Equipment: Blender Ingredients
